Welcome to the website of the Committee on Political Sociology (CPS).
The CPS is a leading international research group sponsored by the International Sociological Association and the International Political Science Association.
The CPS is one of the oldest and most distinguished international study groups. Its members include many of the world's leading political scientists and sociologists. The Committee facilitates the development of research projects, the formation of work groups, the publication of scholarly work and participation in international conferences. Political sociology is about the nexus between social and political life. Our focus is on actors who seek, via organizations or by individual acts, to take or influence political power.
Its biannual newsletter, available online and by e-mail, offers information on members' activities, in workgroups and individually, on upcoming conferences of interest to political sociologists and on the continuing development of the Committee. Contributions are always welcome.
